Door knocking in Strathcona!
This weekend our campaign team and volunteers hit the streets of Edmonton Strathcona. We’ll be wearing masks and following social distancing recommendations as we drop off brochures on every single doorstep in the riding from now until the end of summer. We’ll be asking for feedback on issues of importance to Edmonton Strathcona residents. We’re already hearing a lot. This riding has been held by the NDP for the past 12 years – the Party that has shut down Parliament this summer, stopped debate, and seen MPs forced to stay home instead of holding the government to account. On Wednesday of this week, a proposed one-time payment of $600 to those eligible for the Disability Tax Credit was stalled in Ottawa since Parliament wasn’t in full session for debate on a COVID spending bill. Thanks to the NDP. That’s not good enough. Edmonton Strathcona deserves better. We’ll be offering a BOLD, Conservative vision that will help us Take Back Edmonton Strathcona in the next federal election. A huge thank you to the strong team of vounteers and supporters who have already stepped up to help me on a path that will see me seek the nomination for the Conservative Party in Edmonton Strathcona whenever that opens up.Posted by Rick Peterson on Thursday, June 11, 2020

Support Local Businesses in Edmonton Strathcona
Thrilled to support Joe Nykoluk’s “O Canada Collectibles” in Ritchie as he joins other Edmonton Strathcona small businesses slowly opening up. Especially when I can buy a pro-pipelines hat like this one! As much as you can, please support your small businesses in Edmonton Strathcona – and everywhere – when they re-open.Posted by Rick Peterson on Monday, June 8, 2020

Month-end, especially now during a global pandemic, is tough for any business owner.
Month-end, especially now during a global pandemic, is tough for any business owner. I know, because I am one. I run a business that helps finance Canada’s best growth companies. We rely heavily on travel to see our clients. As the Conservative MP for Edmonton Strathcona, I’ll be a BOLD voice that supporst small business owners and entrepreneurs who create the jobs, tax revenue and wealth that finances Canada’s future.Posted by Rick Peterson on Thursday, June 4, 2020
Climate change is real.
Climate change is real. Conservatives need a real plan to attack greenhouse gas emissions. As the Conservative MP for Edmonton Strathcona, I will bring a bold voice to Ottawa in favour of imposing a levy – a tax – on GHG for large, industrial emitters. I will push to scrap the carbon tax in individuals and small businesses.Posted by Rick Peterson on Wednesday, June 3, 2020
Working hard to join this great line-up!
Anyone who has pulled on a Golden Bear or Panda jersey at the University of Alberta knows the importance of playing as a team. And winning as a team. There is one spot open on the roster of Conservative MPs in Edmonton – and that’s in Edmonton Strathcona. I’m working hard, right now, to bring a bold, Conservative voice to Edmonton Strathcona and join this team. Ziad Aboultaif Kerry Diotte Michael Cooper Matt Jeneroux Kelly McCauley Tim S. Canada is being bullied. This has to stop.
China is a bully. That’s clear to everyone – except to the federal Liberals and NDP. Instead of standing up to China in Parliament, the Liberals and the NDP have sent Members of Parliament back home for the summer. Edmonton Strathcona deserves better. Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor deserve better. Hong Kong deserves better. As the Conservative MP for our riding, I will provide a bold voice that stands up to China. I will call for Canada to implement the Magnitsky Law and slap sanctions on senior Chinese officials for human rights abuses. Canada is being bullied. This has to stop.Posted by Rick Peterson on Sunday, May 31, 2020

Rick Peterson: Thank you to everybody who is helping our seniors today.
A huge thank you to everyone in Edmonton Strathcona and across Canada who are helping our seniors at a time when they’re most vulnerable. Seniors built this province and we enjoy the life we have because of them. Thank you to the countless women and men doing whatever they can, day in and day out, to help our senior communities.Posted by Rick Peterson on Saturday, May 30, 2020
Rick Peterson: I will be working hard to have your voice at work in Ottawa everyday.
Millions of Canadians are doing whatever they can to get back to work. But not the federal New Democratic Party. It just voted to shut down Parliament for the summer. At a time when Canadians most need their MPs to be in Ottawa making sure the government is doing it’s job – the NDP shut the doors to Parliament.Posted by Rick Peterson on Thursday, May 28, 2020
I’ve been a Conservative grassroots volunteer for more than three decades
I’ve been a Conservative grassroots volunteer for more than three decades. I know very well the work, effort, dedication and energy it takes to create a strong base for our Party. Here in Edmonton Strathcona we’ve got one of the best grassroots Conservative organizations in Canada. I know that from my travels across the country as a former leadership candidate. Our Strathcona board and membership are pro-active and policy driven. Deep community roots, strong values and – most importantly – a burning desire to win. COVID-19 takes a toll on everyone, including our volunteers. Which is why I want to thank our grassroots members for their efforts during this pandemic as they juggle family, work and daily issues while still supporting Edmonton Strathcona Conservatives. It’s your participation – through thick and through thin – that makes our grassroots democracy so strong. My message is clear: To all past, current and future members - We simply couldn’t do this without you. Thank you.Posted by Rick Peterson on Monday, May 25, 2020
Rick Peterson will help CANAVUA deliver food to people.
Dicky Dikamba is a man on a mission. This energetic and bold visionary is an Edmonton Strathcona resident and the driving force behind a Canavua Edmonton – a group that helps Francophone Albertans in Edmonton volunteer their services wherever needed in our community. I met Dicky recently to hear more about a food bank truck project that his group is about to launch. It’s directly supporting families who have been hit hard by the COVID lockdown and may have trouble putting food on the table. He has my support, and that of our campaign team. We’re going to help him raise money, prep meals, drive the food bank truck and deliver to needy homes when he gets up and running. Check it out – and see if you can help him in this amazing project. It’s bold initiatives like this that we will always support in Edmonton Strathcona.Posted by Rick Peterson on Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Posted by Rick Peterson on Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Rick Peterson on Gun Shops & Owners
Like millions of Canadians who live in urban centers like Edmonton Strathcona, I am strongly in favour of strict and strongly enforced firearms laws. My family, your family, and every Canadian family deserve protection from criminals, gangs, and illegal guns. I am a registered firearms owner. Like others in Edmonton Strathcona who also have a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for firearms, I know that it's not people like us who commit gun crimes. It's gangs and individuals who use illegal weapons, most often smuggled into Canada from the U.S. The Trudeau government doesn't get this. In the wake of the recent tragic shooting in Nova Scotia, the Liberal government rushed in - without parliamentary debate, and even before the 22 victims of the Nova Scotia tragedy had been buried - an Order in Council that punishes legal gun owners and businesses like the Phoenix Shooting Range in Edmonton Strathcona and across Canada. And does absolutely nothing to stop gun crime. We deserve better. As the Conservative MP for Edmonton Strathcona, I will provide a bold voice that stands up for strong gun laws, that attack illegal guns and the criminals that use them. I will protect our families, support the rights of law abiding gun owners, and I will be pro-active in defence of businesses in our riding who are caught in the crosshairs of a Liberal government that tries to score cheap political points with useless gun laws.Posted by Rick Peterson on Monday, May 25, 2020
