Ethan Dorward is the Co-Campaign & Volunteer Mobilization Manager for Rick’s campaign. He holds a Bachelor of Earth and Atmospheric Science from the University of Alberta where he was proud to be elected to three student groups. He has a passion for politics, having campaigned and worked with candidates at all levels of government, and served as co-chair for the PC party’s environmental policy committee in 2015.
He has supported the interests of both the Alberta Council of Technologies and Alberta/Canada Fusion Energy Program as an event organizer. During the winter, he can most often be found skating on one of Edmonton’s river valley rinks, or social distancing at home under a small mountain of his mom’s homemade quilts!
Shannon Berry is the Co-Campaign & Communications Manager for Rick’s team.
She has been involved in media relations, event production, and marketing for the past 10 years. She has been featured in publications across Canada as well as on television and on the radio for her events and community initiatives. Her most recent accomplishment was being chosen to work with Miranda Lambert’s family, importing and marketing their wine in Canada.
Over the course of the past eight years, she has been the Co-Campaign Manager for a federal nomination campaign and has taken on a variety of other roles with provincial, federal, and municipal campaigns. She has also held a variety of seats on provincial Constituency Boards (CA) and federal Electoral District Associations (EDA). Currently, she sits as Fundraising Chair for the Edmonton Griesbach EDA.
Brent Buchanan is First Vice-President and Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy in Edmonton. He has over 35 years of industry experience and has been a friend and industry colleague of Rick’s for most of that time.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Alberta and has also attained the Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and the Chartered Investment Management designations.
Brent’s been involved in a number of conservative campaigns at the federal, provincial and local levels in Edmonton and will be a key part of Rick’s campaign leadership team in Edmonton Strathcona.
Michael Stuart is Co-Chair of Rick’s campaign. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Alberta, in addition to a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. With a background in Canadian domestic tax, Michael is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the U of A to complement his existing skills and experience.
Beyond work and the classroom, Michael previously served as Chief Financial Officer for PC Alberta’s Edmonton-Centre Constituency Association, and presently sits as a member of the Board of Directors for an Edmonton-based arts organization. In his free time, he can typically be found on the golf course or exploring all that Alberta's mountains and Canada's west coast have to offer.
Kathleen Brayford is Co-Chair of Rick’s campaign. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences. Kathleen has previously worked in energy infrastructure for a large multinational as well as in Alberta's vibrant Agriculture sector.
Kathleen has previously served in various political posts. In her spare time, Kathleen loves to ski, golf and play tennis as well as spend time with her husband and two cats. Kathleen is honoured to be working with such a talented team with extensive experience in the private sector.
David Clement, a former policy advisor to Peterson’s 2020 Conservative leadership bid, will be joining Peterson’s Edmonton Strathcona campaign as Senior Policy Advisor.
Based in Oakville Ontario, Mr. Clement holds a BA in Political Science and a MA in International Relations from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he served as the Research Assistant to the Canada Research Chair in International Human Rights. David regularly covers consumer regulations for national publications such as the National Post, Globe and Mail, and Toronto Star.
He has been invited to provide expert testimony in front of Ontario’s Standing Committee on Social Policy, BC’s Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services, the Canadian Senate’s Committee on National Finance and is a stakeholder on the Canadian Free Trade Agreement’s Regulatory Reconciliation and Cooperation Table.
