Daily Roundup: Sept 14, 2020

September 14, 2020

Hi everyone, here is Rick's Roundup for September 14th

  • Good news on the race for a Covid19 vaccine. AstraZeneca, who had to pause their vaccine trial due to an adverse reaction, has announced that their trial has resumed.

  • This great article in the Edmonton Journal highlights the incredible work done by our EMS crews in Edmonton. These jobs are demanding under normal circumstances, and even more so during a pandemic. A big thank you goes out to all of our EMS workers in Edmonton.

  • Exciting news for wildlife conservation. 30 bison from Elk Island have been flown to Russia to help maintain the survival of the wood bison internationally. These bison will live in Lenskiye Stolby Nature Park in the Sakha Republic of the Russian Federation.

  • Unfortunately, commercial loans are facing the same deferral cliff that apply for residential mortgages. This Globe article highlights how there could be a spike in commercial loan defaults as 76,000 small and medium sized businesses are still deferring payments.

News and events of interest to supporters of Rick Peterson’s Edmonton Strathcona campaign – compiled by David Clement, Senior Policy Advisor

Before asking you for money for our Edmonton Strathcona campaign, we’re in the final stages of paying off expenses from my 2020 Conservative leadership campaign, which was cut short in early March by the COVID-19 pandemic. Would you help us with that? Tax receipts are issued – Click here to be taken to my donation page.
